Disadvantages of using home furnishing credit cards

  1. Firstly, these credit cards usually carry a high APR as compared to regular rewards cards. These credit cards are issued in partnership with Visa or Master along with an issuing bank. These issuers are usually not the top banks like Chase, Capital One, or American Express. They offer very competitive rates for the APR.
  2. They usually offer maximum rewards in the co-branded stores they are tied with. For, the rest of the purchases they do not offer the best rewards. Rewards or travel credit cards offer much better rewards. For our detailed guide on rewards credit cards and travel credit cards please refer to the links.
  3. Finally, these credit cards may put a hard inquiry on a card member’s credit score. So be careful when you are applying for any of these credit cards. These credit cards may also report any missing payment activity promptly to the credit bureau without giving any chance to the member.
