Best Home Furnishing credit cards in 2023

Home furnishing brands and companies also release co-branded credit cards. This credit card offers rewards and cash back on purchases made on these brands. As home improvement projects are expensive, these credit cards offer special financing options to card members.

As these credit cards are released by specific retailers, they offer better rewards. Better rewards are usually available on purchasing home brands of retailers. They do not offer great rewards on travel, dining, or grocery purchases. To know the best credit cards for travel and rewards credit cards do read our other posts.

Advantages of the home furnishing credit cards

  1. These credit cards usually offer free shipping on orders. There is no limit on the minimum purchase to qualify for free shipping.
  2. Credit card members get extra discounts on shopping home brands using these credit cards. For example, ‘Bed, bath, and beyond’ offers 20% off on shopping through their credit card and selecting one of their family brands.
  3. Finally, the co-branded credit cards also offer free financing usually from 6 months to 24 months (i.e. 2 years) for purchases through these credit cards. To qualify for these offers, the members need to meet the spending criteria and also need to pay in full within the defined time.

Disadvantages of using home furnishing credit cards

  1. Firstly, these credit cards usually carry a high APR as compared to regular rewards cards. These credit cards are issued in partnership with Visa or Master along with an issuing bank. These issuers are usually not the top banks like Chase, Capital One, or American Express. They offer very competitive rates for the APR.
  2. They usually offer maximum rewards in the co-branded stores they are tied with. For, the rest of the purchases they do not offer the best rewards. Rewards or travel credit cards offer much better rewards. For our detailed guide on rewards credit cards and travel credit cards please refer to the links.
  3. Finally, these credit cards may put a hard inquiry on a card member’s credit score. So be careful when you are applying for any of these credit cards. These credit cards may also report any missing payment activity promptly to the credit bureau without giving any chance to the member.
